In 2016, Jagadish Chandra Barma Basunia of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Keshab Chandra Ray of INC by a margin of 25251 votes which was 11.57% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Keshab Ch. Ray of INC won this seat defeating Dipak Kumar Roy of AIFB by a margin of 1577 votes which was 0.92% of the total votes polled for the seat.
