Mathabhanga Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Cooch Behar district in the North Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. CDB Mathabhanga-II, 2. Mathabhanga (M). and 3. Hazrahat- I, Hazrahat-II and Pachagarh GPs of CDB Mathabhanga-I

This constituency covers an approximate area of 351 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Mathabhanga is: 26°24'29.5"N 89°13'46.9"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 85.75%, while it was 87.31% in 2016, and 86.85% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Sushil Barman of BJP won in this constituency beating Girindra Nath Barman of TMC by a margin of 26134 votes which was 12.28% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Binay Krishna Barman of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Khagen Chandra Barman of CPIM by a margin of 31918 votes which was 15.93% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Binay Krishna Barman of TMC won this seat defeating Ananta Roy of CPIM by a margin of 5324 votes which was 3.16% of the total votes polled for the seat.
