পদত্যাগ করলেন উর্জিত প্যাটেল, ট্যুইটে প্রতিক্রিয়া মোদি-মমতার

#নয়াদিল্লি: পদত্যাগ করলেন রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্কের গভর্নর উর্জিত প্যাটেল ৷ ব্যক্তিগত কারণ দেখিয়ে ইস্তফা দিলেন তিনি ৷ সোমবার পদত্যাগপত্র জমা দিয়েছেন উর্জিত  ৷ সংবাদসংস্থা রয়টার্স সূত্রে এমনটাই খবর ৷

সরকারের কাছে পাঠানো ইস্তফাপত্রে ব্যক্তিগত কারণ দেখানো হলেও বিশেষজ্ঞ মহলের অনুমান, রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্কের কাজকর্মে ‘সরকারি হস্তক্ষেপ’ই এর কারণ। কেন্দ্রীয় সংস্থায় হস্তক্ষেপ নিয়ে সরকারের সঙ্গে দীর্ঘদিন ধরেই মনোমালিন্য চলছিল উর্জিত প্যাটেলের ৷ এর পাশাপাশি নোটবন্দি-সহ আরও একাধিক বিষয় নিয়ে কেন্দ্রের সঙ্গে চলছিল বিরোধ ৷

২০১৬-তে আরবিআই-এর গভর্নর হিসেবে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেন উর্জিত। ২০১৯-এর সেপ্টেম্বরে তাঁর কার্যকালের মেয়াদ শেষ হওয়ার কথা ছিল। কিন্তু তাঁর আগে ইস্তফা দিয়ে একসঙ্গে অনেকগুলো প্রশ্ন তুলে দিয়ে গেলেন তিনি।

উর্জিতের ইস্তফার পরই টুইট করেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী। তিনি লেখেন, “আমরা এক জন ভাল অর্থনীতিবিদের অভাব অনুভব করব।”

Dr Urjit Patel is an economist of a very high calibre with a deep and insightful understanding of macro-economic issues. He steered the banking system from chaos to order and ensured discipline. Under his leadership, the RBI brought financial stability.

টুইট করেন কেন্দ্রীয় অর্থমন্ত্রী অরুণ জেটলিও। তিনি লেখেন, “ রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্কের এক জন গভর্নর ও ডেপুটি গভর্নর হিসেবে উর্জিত পটেলের ভূমিকা প্রশংসনীয়।”

The Government acknowledges with deep sense of appreciation the services rendered by Dr. Urjit Patel to this country both in his capacity as the Governor and the Deputy Governor of The RBI. It was a pleasure for me to deal with him and benefit from his scholarship. (1/2)

পাল্টা বিরোধীদের দাবি, ইস্তফার পরে এ কথা বলে, আসলে ড‍্যামেজ কন্ট্রোলের চেষ্টা করছেন নরেন্দ্র মোদি। টুইট করেন মুখ‍্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ‍্যোপাধ‍্যায়। তিনি লেখেন, ‘এই ধরণের ঘটনা আগে আশা করা যায়নি ৷ খুবই চিন্তার বিষয় .....দেশে অর্থনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা চলছে  ৷ রাজনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা চলছে দেশে ৷’

টুইট করেন কংগ্রেস নেতা চিদাম্বরম। তিনি লেখেন, "কেন্দ্রীয় নেতৃত্বের কাছে আরও অপমানিত হওয়ার আগেই নিজের পদ থেকে ইস্তফা দিলেন উর্জিত ৷ যেটি নি:সন্দেহে খুব ভাল সিদ্ধান্ত ৷’’

উর্জিত পটেলের ইস্তফার পরই কংগ্রেসের অফিসিয়াল ট্যুইটার হ্যান্ডেল থেকেও ট্যুইট করা হয় ৷ সেই ট্যুইটে জানানো হয়েছে, কেন্দ্রের সঙ্গে সংঘাতের জেরেই পদত্যাগ করেছেন উর্জিত ৷ আরবিআই গভর্নরের পদত্যাগের ঘটনায় হতবাক এস গুরুমূর্তি এবং আহমেদ পটেলও ৷

Surprised at the news that RBI governor has resigned. The previous meeting was held in such cordial atmosphere that it comes as a shock.
